What causes the black fender flares on my jeep to turn gray? What can I do about it?
Fender flares are commonly made from urethane, a plastic subject to UV degradation. Exposure to sunlight causes graying and oxidation.
Some manufacturers of fender flares and other urethane components and accessories, recommend periodic applications of 303 Aerospace Protectant.
Use 303 Aerospace Protectant on to restore a like new, lustrously black appearance to graying fender flares. Then periodically reapply 303 Aerospace Protectant to maintain that like-new appearance. (Reapplication varies with exposure, typically every 4-6 weeks.)
